Psychology 1230=AWKWARD!!!!

So, I take this class on mondays from 6-9 pm.
Today's topic was "Love and Relationships among adolescents."
Usually we break into groups of 2-3, and discuss something. Today we had to discuss our relationships when we were teenagers, what boyfriends (girlfriends) you had, and to look back and see how that relationship helped you grow and develop, whether it was healthy/unhealthy, etc.
Two members of our group talked a lot. One said nothing at all because they know nothing of the subject. I won't tell who was who.

"I won't tell who was who"
Did you mean "I won't tell who was whom"?

Weary l--perhaps you should get a bit more rest...
Since there is no object of the verb "was", the subjective form (who)is correct. Use the he/him rule. If you can substitute "he", use "who". If "him" works, then use "whom". This rule works most of the time. And, since the first "who" is not the object of the verb "tell" ("you" is the implied object-as in "I won't tell (you) who was who"), "who (subjective) is correct as well.
Nat-sorry about not setting you up with more dates in your youth--NOT! We are glad you have taken your time growing up. You are a wonderful young woman, even if you did not have the obligatory 7th grade boyfriend!

What a trying activity. Well, don't worry. I would've been sitting that one out as well.

wow nat-guess you've always known you have a dad that would protect you no matter what. He is still the old warrior for you, he didn't like weary l correcting you when you were right! As for me I don't know any rules, just what sounds OK. It's very good to grow up in a family that speaks English correctly then you don't need to know the rules, correct speach just comes naturally. Sorry you didn't have a mom that speaks absolutely correct English and doesn't spell that great either. However, if you ever need help in delivering a baby I'll be there! Love Mummy
